Richard brings a rare mix of technical precision and athletic experience to his coaching. With a Personal Training Certification, a specialization as a Weight Loss Specialist, and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Washington, he combines evidence-based programming with a creative, challenging approach. His sessions focus on variety, intentional control, and building both strength and confidence for everyday life.
While pursuing his master’s degree, Richard trained as an amateur kickboxer and competed in kettlebell sport, even sharing a platform with a world champion in the 10-minute snatch event. The discipline and personal growth he experienced through competitive training inspired him to become a personal trainer so he could help others experience similar transformations in their own lives.
Richard believes fitness should improve quality of life, not just gym performance. He’s passionate about introducing members to new movements they might not try on their own and watching them surprise themselves with what they can accomplish. Helping people overcome doubts, build strength, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is what drives him.
